Getting Spammed?

  • Subject: Getting Spammed?

At the end of November this year some fuckwit at Apple decided that it would
be a good idea to subscribe some of the mailing lists to "mail-archive.com".

This means that all of our email addresses are available for anybody to use
or harvest as you'll see if you click on any of the messages that you'll see
here:

<http://www.mail-archive.com/email@hidden/maillist.html
>

Fortunately, their server is b0rked at the moment, so you may not be able to
access individual messages. But, take it from me that the email addresses
are clearly shown on each page in this format:

<INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="user" VALUE="your_name">
<INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="host" VALUE="you_domain">

Where "your_name" and "you_domain" is replaced with the real thing. This
form mark-up is attached to a helpful button with your name on it so that
any numpty can send you a personal message :-(

I posted this information to AppleScript-Users last week (and to the admin)
but have heard nothing back.
