Honestly, I miss the point of your reply. I do not understand why it follows
that iteration "isn't necessary" since "these software packages
[ProfileMaker and Monaco Profiler] aren't specific to optimizing the match
between two data sets." That they aren't now doesn't mean they COULDN'T be,
does it?
Both GMG and ORIS (and please correct me if I'm wrong) compare the values
produced by the inkjet device with those measured and then stored in the
target (as printed in, say, a Matchprint). Why couldn't that be done in
ProfileMaker, if one wishes to? Why not set up a routine that allows such a
procedure?
I have no experience with Gretag's Device Link module, which MAY offer a
similar function already. Could anybody offer insight into that?
