I'm using the IT8/7.3 target to profile my Epson 7600, Dot proofer,

Problem is such, the target will just fit the 10" 2200, but the 7" is
too narrow (I have cylinders big enough to fit the target depthwise.)
What would be the best way to get around this? Can the target be
shrunk? Should I split it and run half at a time, the tape the
halves back together to read them?
If it's formatted for and being read on a Spectrolino/Spectroscan you
can shrink it a little but I wouldn't recommend making the patches
smaller than about .25". Another option would be to use a chart that's
a bit more compact and scrambled that would be formatted for the GMB
iCColor scanning spectro. The charts come in a number of format sizes
depending on what you need. In fact, if you go this route, you might be
able to use the "better" ECI2002 target. I think the ECI target and the
new IT8.7/4 are recommended for flexo over the older IT8.7/3 target
anyway (more highlight values).
If you're interested in using iCColor targets but you don't have a unit
and need somebody to read them for you, contact me off-line. I'll have
some spare time over the holidays and could easily get them done for
you in much less time than reading them on a Spectroscan. With the
iCColor, I can easily read about 4-5 charts per hour. I could supply
you the measurement data in a format readable in both ProfileMaker or
Monaco Profiler (I do this all the time). Let me know.

Terry
