If it's formatted for and being read on a Spectrolino/Spectroscan you can
shrink it a little but I wouldn't recommend making the patches smaller
than about .25". Another option would be to use a chart that's a bit more
compact and scrambled that would be formatted for the GMB iCColor scanning
spectro. The charts come in a number of format sizes depending on what you
need. In fact, if you go this route, you might be able to use the "better"
ECI2002 target. I think the ECI target and the new IT8.7/4 are recommended
for flexo over the older IT8.7/3 target anyway (more highlight values).
How do I get the IT8.7/4 target? I've already made plates for the 10"
press with the other target, about about $200 for plates... would it be
wise/worth the $$$ to use a different target for the both press at this point?
If you're interested in using iCColor targets
and these are..what? (yes, still new at this. In fact I have another
question that is probably simple to answer, and I may know the answer but
am forgetting right now. I have so many responbilities from day to day, I
may learn something then forget it if I don't get a chance to practice it
first. I understand how to print from Photoshop with different
profiles. However, most of my work is composed in Quark 5 running in
Classic, and printed to Nexus from there. How do I get the images to print
with the correct destination profile, since I've seen everyone recommend
not using Quark's CMS...
??
I'm using Profilemaker 5, with an Eye-one.
but you don't have a unit and need somebody to read them for you,
contact me off-line. I'll have some spare time over the holidays and
could easily get them done for you in much less time than reading them on
a Spectroscan. With the iCColor, I can easily read about 4-5 charts per
hour. I could supply you the measurement data in a format readable in
both ProfileMaker or Monaco Profiler (I do this all the time). Let me know.
Regards,
Terry
