I build a few dozen profiles a month using this package which go both to
Mac and PC users. First, I always use the .icm extension. I suspect our
cousins on the PC platform prefer this. Also, if you are sending
profiles over the net, it's a really good idea to compress them (I zip
the files for PC and stuff the files for Mac). 99 times out of a
hundred, the PC and Mac users are able to use the resulting profiles
just fine.

I have used Gretag-Macbeth profiler 4.1 and Monaco. Gretag appears to
add .icc, and Moncaco appears to add .icm. This is not platform specific
- but it puzzles me.

Also, PC's can email to PC's without zipping or stuffing, and Macs to
Macs can do the same, but PC to Mac or vice versa requires zipping or
stuffing (most likely to preserve the resource fork on the Mac)
