I have knowledge of another digital photo printer - the Agfa DLab (aka Kodak
SRP30) printer. I'm sure that the setup on the Frontier is similar in that
there must be a master paper designated that gets calibrated several times a
day to make simple adjustments for variations in processing. All the other
papers must be calibrated only when the master paper is in tune.
It appears from his statements that the technician hasn't done it correctly.
There should be absolutely no difference between final calibration strips
even though changes in the master balance take place to compensate for
chemistry changes.
As for profiling, one has to make sure that ALL color adjustments are turned
off on the printer when the targets are printed and also when the profiled
work is printed. On the DLab, there's a special mode provided for this
purpose.
