Hello Simon -
Heads up on the workflow, once you have profiled the Frontier. While
Pic and PicPro will allow you to access the scans and output queues,
PicPro's internal engine does not achieve ideal ICC support.
If you profile on top of Pic or PicPro, you need to set up an
automated workflow which respects embedded profiles (PicPro does not)
and accurately converts to the output space.
A tool such as Gretag's iQueue 110 is preferred over PicPro for
converting to the output profile.
Corrective file edits now present a new problem. As PicPro does not
softproof through the converted profile (as Photoshop does) the
operator will need to get used to the new look when correcting for
overs/unders and casted originals.
Fuji keeps claiming that it will upgrade PicPro to working strength.
. . but it has been more than 3 years of waiting at this point.
Conjecture at PMA indicated that "with Pro labs being 1/10th of the
Frontier install base, there is not enough incentive in getting it
right".
Please check out third party products like Frontline
(www.frontlinesystem.com ) for replacing Pic and PicPro. Full color
support in Frontline is expected around the Photokina time frame. Add
on products like m-photo (
http://www.m-photo.com/) or ZBE's
Workstream(
http://www.ZBE.com - requires ownership of a ZBE
Chromira) integrate with Frontline to help address the color workflow
issues at the moment.

Hi All,
I am just starting the process of characterising a fuji frontier
system, running glossy and satin stocks.
