Profiling a camera with OS X

I'm curios about where you place the camera profile.

One of my customers is asking this and I thought I'd submit it to this
list and see what kind of answer I can get.

Is the profile used in the camera capture s/w only?

How does the mapping from camera space to Photoshop (Adobe RGB) happen?

Where do all the profiles go?
