Hi Roger:
I sent an email to Thomas Knoll a while back in relation to a similar issue
(integer errors in Lab) over Camera Raw, after reading Bruce's information
on the subject. He replied back that if I was using 16-bit files, I
shouldn't worry about it. Maybe this means that calculations in the PCS
are in 16-bits?
I then asked Son Do of Rods And Cones if any color engines used floating
point math for Lab calculations, and he forwarded my email to some high
places, and as I recall of the replies, the response was that the only
place to find floating point calcs in Lab was under some special
circumstances with the Apple engine in OS-X .
Jim
