I9ve come to wonder whether an option to filter the types of profiles shown
in the Destination Space in the Photoshop9s Convert to profile dialog should
be a good thing? I often want to convert an RGB image to a CMYK space of
some sort and when I try to select the Destination space profile in the
Destination space, surely enough, Photoshop dilligently goes about listing
profiles of all walks of life it finds in the all the Colorsync profiles
folders, starting by the current working spaces profiles followed by its own
prefered lists, then followed by all RGB profiles and then, finally, CMYK
profiles. If you happen to have a lot of profiles in your ColorSync folder,
like I do, you know how painfull it is, everytime, to wait until Photoshop
has finished building the complete list in memory before it will honor the
click of the mouse and start displaying all the candidate profiles it has
found.
I thought it could simpler to have some radio buttons in the Convert to
profile dialog box in order to filter the list down to only those of
interest? And thus, possibly speeding up the display and boosting
productivity.
