I have to treat images taken with a Fuji S2 in fine JPG mode. The native
compressed files are approx. 4,2 MB and are 35MB once opened in
Photoshop. I rotate what needs to, color correct and sharpen some, then
I want to save the work in the original file size and chose for this
purpose the image compression ratio that corresponds. Doing so, I
probably loose some quality, for a compressed image should not be
compressed again. The images are to be processed later on a Fuji
Frontier. Another question is about profiles: The images are in sRGB.
They look fine on my screen with ColorSync, but the lab just ignore the
profiles when it prints and this results in gamma and color shifts.
Should I better convert into my monitor profile in this case and strip
off the profile? Would you do it differently?
Best regards,
Paul Schilliger
