I was thinking the same thing. If you wanted to apply some postscript code
to the encapsulated image that was DIFFERENT from the rest of the job; like
printing one image at a very low linescreen for illustration purposes, or
something. Then, I see EPS as still being viable for when that image or
content needs its own screen ruling/angles, or custom postscript. The EPS
content will be processed separately, from the rest of the job; provided its
instructions are different.
