Most laptops offer no controls other than a backlight control, and you

Well, using the settings above will improve this, updating to a newer version
of OptiCAL will improve this... beyond that you should realize that you are
describing the most demanding (and most artificial) image for a monitor to
display, and you are displaying it on a monitor that has been compromised to
reduce thickness and weight.
