If you were looking at the Epson R800 with the longlife pigment UltraChrome
inks, the added red and blue primaries, and the gloss optimizer overcoating,
then that would be a reason or three to consider it instead of the Canon. But
the R300 is not at that level. Its a dyebased printer with significant color
variation between display light sources, making color management difficult.
Against that particular model, I would definately choose the i960. I have
all
these models in my own studio, so this is not just a theoretical comparison.
