Rob,
the Canon range being dye based produce a very wide gamut and produce
excellent prints on a wide variety of substrates.
The information you got about not being able to turn off Color/Colour
adjustment is just plain incorrect...
The best profiles I produced were obtained using the eye-one and
Profilemaker Pro. The results from the "dumbed down" eye-one Photo
package were very dense in the shadow areas.
One of the nicer things for me is that my S900, i9100 and i9900 all use
the same ink carts. The exception being the i9900 which has
additionally a red and green cart.
Try them with the Ilford Galerie Classic papers. The results are
terrific.
Now enough of this colour management nonsense - get yourself to one of
the excellent "boozers" in Warwick and have a" jar" for me.
Real beer is the only thing I miss about "blighty"....
