Re(2): use of sRGB as a default

Pardon my rudely jumping in the middle of this - but in terms of color
management architecture and strategy I couldn't care less about whether
exRGB or Ephemeral RGB look _better_ or not on Jim's or Mary's computer
screen.

The ultimate goal of color management is consistency (within the limits
of feasibility). If that goal is not supposed to be reached, I am out of
this game. While we do live (and will continue to live for many years to
come) in a much less than perfect world, as much as possible must be done
to get towards consistency. (BTW - this does not preclude any "make this
picture look nicer" automagic tools or what have you.)

And it does not matter whether somebody declares consistency - the
consistency must be perceived as such by those to whom it matters. That
might be a prepress or AV professional, but as well my aunt making a
print on a 99$ inkjet.

PS: Don't know whether I mentioned it already but just in case I didn't:
With regard to color management consistency is key.
