Sorry for the belated answer.
If the scanner is trying to apply a profile over the incorrect control
settings this will occur.
If you're using ScanXact 10 you can save a control set that was used at the
time of profile creation. I saved the normal control set, and control sets
with Black set point and black and white set points. I do leave the ICC tag
unchecked as this will lock out any user controls.
I also see a slight difference and better data coming into Photoshop on
assigning the profile than with the data pre-tagged.
If you're using ScanXact II then the settings would be running through the
control settings and modifying the pre scan on the fly, something that the
V10 cannot do.
