Vanita,
To me it all depends where you're starting from.
What are you separating to, right now? Are you getting your CMYK images drum
scanned or doing your own color conversions from Photoshop?

I still have to get my hands on it myself -- just too busy right now. If
anyone has a link that I can follow to order it, please copy me. But, yes, I
assume if it was made under the auspices of CGATS, which is the technical
graphic arts authority of ANSI, that it will become a US standard at one
point or another, as long as it's realistic. And people, like you and me,
adopt for separation and proofing. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Well, it's like the Kevin Costner movie: if you build it it will come.
Seriously, I heard a lot of time and effort has went into the development of
that standard. If anything I wouldn't dismiss it.

Sounds to me that the Approval being SWOP certified is right for you if your
work revolves aroung the web offset world. But if it's designed from the
ground up for sheetfed maybe it's time to take a second look at proofing on
an Approval. Unless you say everyone you've sent your jobs to have never
complained about having difficulty matching the Approvals you send them.
Then I think it is a moot issue.

You see. If it ain't broken why fix it?

Did you say you were using a custom built Approval XP4 CMYK profiles for
separating to and, obviously, proofing?

Thank you,
