Nope. That's the continuing sad state of affairs with color management
and Adobe Illustrator. But if you're looking for a worse implementation
in an illustration application, check out Macromedia Freehand.
Maybe this stems from the fact that Illustrator CS is still not
CIE-based?
Not sure what you mean by that.
