Well, it's color-related at least..
I have 2 problems.
1) I am using Colorshop X on mac OS 10.3, great program.
I just purchased a used DTP-22, however it is labeled "digital
swatchbook" .
I cannot get Colorshop X to recognize this spectrophotometer, which is
connected via Keyspan USA-28X adaptor. I'm using a Powerbook G4 with
USB conneciton.
X-Rite's ToolCrib for OsX will see and control the digital swatchbook
(albeit only at 4800 baud) , so I know that it is working and the
adaptor is doing its thing. Also, connecting it to a PC works fine,
toolcrib sees it there as well. ToolCrib lists the Digital swatchbook
and DTP22 separately, and will only connect when "Digital Swatchbook"
is selected. Connection settings are
protocol : ICP
baud: 4800
and it connects, but then gives a long list of errors regarding
parameters that it cannot retrieve from the DS.
I get the exact same results when attempting this on my desktop eMac.
However, Colorshop usually says "wrong device type connected" and
will not connect to it. Colorshop X shows lots of devices in its
drop-down list including DTP22, but not the Digital Swatchbook.
Sometimes I suspect that it's connected, and colorshop will even make
the 'shutter' sound when I use the DS, but no readings have ever come
in.
is the DTP22 different than the "Digital Swatchbook" ? My Digital
Swatchbook says DTP-22 on its ID tag. Is anyone using this
combination successfully? currently I am using X-key to export data
to textedit, which is a pretty painful process. Help!
2) The other problem is that I am now in charge of a Gretag
Spectroscan, and have Profilemaker Pro 3.1, which was formerly run
on an older powermac and connected directly via DIN serial plug. The
old mac is gone, and I have to make it work with this powerbook.
I am having no luck at all connecting the spectroscan to my Powerbook.
Is it possible to run this combination through Classic mode? even
booting into Os9.2.2 , I cannot establish a connection between my
powerbook and the Spectroscan, via USB.
If anyone has any tips on how they've got a spectroscan configured
through a USB port, I would really welcome any suggestions.
Thanks very much,
Randy Norian
