Hi Martin,
There are 2 tools in MonacoPROFILER that let you perform "selective" color
edits to a profile: the "Selective Edit" control and the "Fine Tune"
control. Selective edit allows you to customize gamut compression in the
BtoA tables and is user to modify the way a profile "handles" color. You can
use this tool to modify either in-gamut or out-of-gamut color handling by
specifying a "desired color" from the original image (on the left) in Lab or
LCH, and defining a custom "printed color", along with lightness and color
range control (effect will display on the image on the right).
The "Fine-Tune" controls are really geared for controlling actual output
values (which is why it needs to be the last tool that you use). In fine
tune, you can select a color - in Lab or LCH - and specify the exact recipe
that you would like the software to use.
Both these tools were created specifically for output color modification and
apply to the BtoA tables only. When launching the editor in the "forward
mode", the 2 tools are disabled.
Thank you for choosing Monaco and X-Rite.
Marc
