Hello Doug,
that's a common mistake lots of people make when placing RGB-Files in
XPress. RGB.tifs get separated with a built-in method yielding very
poor and absolutely useless results, if you choose CMYK in the output
options.
Convert to an appropriate CMYK space in Photoshop and place CMYK-only
files in XPress. Do not try to solve it with XPress' own CM (no
blackpoint compensation,...)
In this case you as the colorsavvy photographer should also provide the
CMYK files. I hope someone can tell you which flavour is best...
(Only a RGB.eps would get out unchanged, because then it's contained in
its own postscript.)
