If you want to do 5000K lighting on-the-cheap for GENERAL lighting (not the actual viewing booth but maybe for a conference room or in the pressroom), GE Chroma50's are hard to beat AND you can pick them up at Home Depot in both 4' and 8' lengths. They have a CRI of 91 or so, which is not great, so don't use them as replacements for GTI or other viewing booth bulbs. I use them in my garage so my Moto Guzzi Centauro ALWAYS appears color-correct when I go in and sometimes just stare at it. I've never noticed any 1000cc V-twin metamerism with these bulbs. You think I'm kidding?

Lastly, if I say "5000K", do I mean 5000 KELVIN or am I REALLY saying 5,000,000?? Would it be more proper (and shorter) to simply write 5KK??? This has been bugging me....all morning.

Have a nice day...and weekend.
Terry
