Hi Terry -
Physics 101. A theoretical black body is
absolutely black at 0 degrees Kelvin. When heated
to glowing, at 5000 degrees Kelvin it emits the
spectra that color standards folks have defined
for comparative viewing. So the answer is. . .
5000 degrees Kelvin.
Kelvin is just another reference such as
Fährenheit or Celsius/Centigrade. The difference
of course is varying 0 degree reference points
for each system as well as varying increments for
each degree change.

if I say "5000K", do I mean 5000 KELVIN or am I REALLY saying 5,000,000??
