This gets a little convoluted but please bear with me, there is a punch
line.
About a year ago I was contacted through a third party to
calibrate one of her clients monitors.
She does all the clients (jewelry) prepress and in-house art work.
I also calibrated the the third parties monitor.
I no longer deal with the third party for various reasons.
Last week I was contacted by the jewelry client to profile her printer
to match her monitor.
As soon as I looked at her monitor I knew something was amiss.
Checked monitor prefs and found it set to sRGB.
My guess is that the former third party who no longer has me to
calibrate
her monitor set them both to sRGB assuming hers and the client would
match.
I assume that using a "working space" as a monitor profile is wrong.
I could not explain to the client why this was a dumb setup.
Can someone please put it in laymen's terms.
Or maybe I am wrong.
Many thinks in advance for reading this long winded question.
