I am trying to figure out why the Bibble raw file conversion software
asks you to view your images in Photoshop with Monitor RGB selected
under proof set up to get the image in PS to match the Bibble preview.
I have other programs that raw converters (C-1, Nikon Capture,
Silverfast DCPro, and of course ACR) and with each of them, their
preview and the processed file in Photoshop CS are a match for color,
contrast and density. With Bibble, the processed image is a darker and
has more contrast than the apps preview. Bibble says to choose Monitor
RGB as a Proof Setup (soft proof) and then the image in Photoshop
matches the preview.
Okay...but I have a hardware calibrated monitor, the monitor is
displaying the file with reasonable accuracy. I have printer profiles
that work, for my printer and a couple of Frontiers. My clients are
very happy with my files. Why would I want to soft proof my files with
Monitor RGB? Am I not already viewing my files with a monitor profile?
These other programs, even Vuescan, allow you to select the actual
monitor icc profile, and give a reasonable preview to saved file match,
but Bibble is set as "monitor proof".
Am I missing something?
I am on a Mac, Adobe RGB 1998, I have my color management on in PS
color settings, my hardware created profile is selected under System
Prefs>displays>color and under the Colorsync Utility panel for devices.
Thanks in advance. I don't post very often, but the folks on this
forum have always been helpful.
