Dear Nick,
The reason I like to print Same as source is to charaterize the printer. I
don't intend to use Canon's canned profile but my very own. I use a number
of profiling apps to this end. But I was utterly shocked to find such a
large difference of rendering on the part of the drivers between platforms.
I remember many poster's account of discrepancy in color moving from PCs to
Mac but never had I seen such a pronounced difference myself in a desktop
printer's output.
