Because of mapping in mode changes, max white 16 bit would convert to
max white 32 bit. I don't see an application for taking Dmin from 16
bit to 32 bit.
One might , however, reinsert highlight detail captured through
underexposure on top of the 16 bit blown-out data and produce a high
dynamic range image. This would produce greater latitude both in the
highlights and in the shadows by merging the 2 exposures.
