Amen to that, Jon. While the main thrust of this thread was 8 bit vs 16 bit,
which, on the surface looked like like just another 'dry' and boring
programming concept, we saw that there's a lot of color issues involved, as
most posts revealed. I personally found it a fantastic educational
experience (but I admit I'm biased towards continuously learning about
color). I particularely appreciated seeing how each list members's point of
view drew from their own experiences which quickly broaden the discussion to
issued like gradation, banding and device responses. It's nice and healthy
to be able to challenge each other's opinions in the open environment that
this list provides -- thank you Apple! I know I personally learnt an awfull
lot from this thread and I want to thank EVERYONE who willingly and openly
contributed their knowledge and point of views.
