Very true. Many of the big magazines do sheet fed covers that are assembled
with the interior web page folds.
The best person here that has recently tried to bring some of the big
printers into a better , friendlier ICC world would be Elie Khoury.
I believe he did some work for Maury's web press. Hopefully he'll chime in
here with some reflections on their expected behaviour and adherence to ISO
standards.
Hi Neil,
Yes that's right.
Elie Khoury is a well known and respected member of several groups for the
standardization of printing.
And there is still a lot to do.
Elie is also member of "Printing across Borders", a group of professionals
in printing that tries to increase the awareness
for the implementation of international standards such as ISO 12747-2 and 3.
The goal is a.o. to replace the usage of national standards.
I know that Maury is also involved in the ECI work group for web offset
standardization.
They did some great test runs recently.
I hope that someone from Maury or Elie himself can give some additional info.
regards,
Henk
