I still use ColorSynergy to create grayscale ICC profile. It looks like
they're using kTRC tags. With more points, though, than Photoshop's. So,
yes, Steve, it looks like the same idea.
At least, ColorSynergy is able to create grayscale profiles directly from 1
channel printing data -- no need to yank it of a cmyk profile. Similar to
QTR, I gather?
