<The problem that persists is that I still cannot SAVE a Custom
profile.
For example, I would like to change the above ColorSpace ratio, so I
click on Custom and change the default 400:1 to 500:1, rename the ColorSpace,
and click SAVE.....But thats it... The window disappears and I see no
evidence of the profile in the Artisan Dialog and a search for it within the
computer (Mac OS 10.3.7) comes up empty.>
Have you tried repairing permissions as
someone else suggested? Maybe try re-installing the software? Your Custom
color space files should be located here:
Users/"YourLogin"/Library/Preferences/Sony CRS/Color Spaces. I do
notice that if I log on to my Mac as anything less than the admin, I cannot
even access the Custom area.
<I am now wondering if this monitor is as NEW as it was advertised
to be. I received everything in its original containers, bags, etc. but
you never know. Is there a way to verify that the monitor has not been
refurbished, used, etc.>
Well, there's a manufactured date on the
serial number tag in back, but this doesn’t tell you much in that regard,
and I don't know of a way to check the hours (like you can on an Eizo)
<P.S. What about all of the "on-screen" controls
such as Contrast (mine is set to 100), individual RGB Brightness Controls, and
individual RGB Contrast Controls? Should these be configured BEFORE
calibration and/or how do they interact? When and Why are they needed?>
I've never adjusted them before profiling. I've
always had good results just ensuring the picture effect mode was set to
"professional", then going through the profile procedure.
