Thanks all for the answers everyone.
I just realized that now I need to go back
and re-make my profiles with a sheet or two of backing paper since the “white”
background of the Spectroscan is not so neutral (94.0, -1.2, -0.6).
The profiling software folks really ought
to mention this in their instructions. I hadn’t even thought about
it, figuring the paper was thick enough. But then, when measuring various
paper white values, I saw significantly different measurements for the same
paper and realized it was due to what was underneath the paper being measured.
