I want to thank all those of you who lent a helping hand in conducting my
(apparently) difficult press sample analysis and selection problem.
I must confess I never been confronted with the kind of data variability
this particular assignment presented me with. I'll admit I didn't quite know
how to handle this situation. But it turned out that the solution was right
under my nose, all along, in the form of a companion application, shipping
with PrintOpen v5, called QualityMonitor. It's nothing short of a
full-fledge set of advanced data analysis and massaging tools designed to
probe into a given print process. It has features similar to a tool like
ColorMetrix, albeit a little more advanced, if you ask me. I must confess it
took me some effort to figure QualityMonitor out but, once I got the hang of
it, it blew me out. Now, picking which sheets to keep and which to discard
in a press run, for the purpose of developping press profiles, is a cinch.
