This has far less to do with the solution being about DeviceLinks, and
more to do with a smart CMM.
The reduction in saturation you see is likely to be the result of the
in built gamut mapping of the output profile, which is probably set for
a generic compression, or compression from an assumed RGB gamut.
I would consider any profile using substantial gamut compression of
in-gamut colors using the colorimetric intent a major bug. If the
source and destination color spaces are reasonably similar, it should
be possible to preserve the original color appearance rather well.
Loss of grey balance indicates inaccuracy in one of the profiles.
