Vectorworks and color management

My customer is using Vectorworks 10.1 to print to a postscript printer HP1055cm-plus. He is using OS 10.4 and is viewing on an Apple Cinema Display and is printing to a 24lb bond paper. I can build profiles for him using Monaco profiler but Vectorworks doesn't color manage it's files. I've had some advice to open the exported files in Photoshop and use the monitor profile there to view what is being seen in Vectorworks, then manipulate colors and print. Can anyone on the list advise me as to the strategy to take to dodge having to go to photoshop and still get some sort of predictable colors?

Thanks in advance,
Kyle Petty
