The site mentioned here doesn't say WHERE this job offer is being made
(unless I missed something). I believe that physical location MUST matter a
great deal in determining salary ranges. What's good for Omaha, NE, for
example, clearly won't even pay the rent in New York City, or San Francisco.
Also, I would submit that there is a lot of underappreciation for color
management skills out there, and we, of all people, should not encourage
this dim view by promoting pay scales that make our skills appear "cheap,"
because:
(a) they are very far from being cheaply acquired (they come at great
personal expense in training and practical experience), and:
(b) the only thing "cheap" about them are those clients who won't pay what
you deserve for something that makes them a killing in money saved and
gained productivity.
