The above was not at all suggested in my post.
As to the question of editing profiles, I am reminded of what Bruce Fraser
said in his book Real World Color Management:
"When you're new to profile editing, you'll be tempted to edit the profile
to fix problems that are really better addressed by either adjusting the
device's behaviour (perhaps by linearizing) and reprofiling, or reprofiling
with different parameters. Going all the way back to the beginning and
starting over may seem like a lot more work than editing the profile, but in
the long run it's usually the easiest course....If your profile has problems
that are big enough to make you contemplate editing them, take a moment to
reflect on all the steps that went before."
Now I am not suggesting that people shouldn't try to learn more about colour
management and its vagaries. Far from it. I am simply suggesting that
someone who thinks that the new EyeOne profile editor is going to be of
serious value to them should really sit back for a second and ask themselves
why. If you do become a highly skilled colour expert like many on this list
(and there are many courses in colour engineering available to those that
want to learn more) then I suspect you will find the new, very basic EyeOne
editor is not the tool for accomplishing your goals. It is in that context
that I made my earlier remarks.
