That's exactly what stoked my interest in this area. In his black and
white printing seminar at PhotoPlus Expo last month, Jeff Schewe noted
that he often edits the proofing portion of his profile. Schewebacca's
comments paired with A Rod's posting about spending hours on perfecting
profiles left me concerned about the lack of resources discussing how to
approach edits.
But these guys are experts with undoubtedly well-tuned profiling
practices, and they know with confidence when a profile needs editing. I
can't say the same for myself, and a comprehensive seminar like the one
Steve Upton suggested sounds quite compelling. Certainly I'd like to have
a thorough understanding of (and tight control over) all the variables of
profile generation before I introduce a new set of variables through
profile editing.
