I agree that the issue in question is more likely a v2 cmm. Especially now
that we know that it was in OS9.
But regarding absolute compatibility, why does Monaco warn of unexpected
results mixing profile versions in their documentation? Do you know what
they experienced that led them to print this?

"If you are using version 4 profiles, please make sure that you switch your
entire workflow to version 4. Mixing version 2 and version 4 profiles within
the same workflow may produce unwanted results."
