Hi all list members,
brief info for all who involved:
from Epson support pages you can get new utility, Epson ColorBase (must click "more.." in software downloads section).
This is linearization utility from Epson, intended for new K3 printers (2400, 4800 and maybe others ..)
Great is becoming even better :) Presented by guy from Epson, i saw this - after linearization, he made certified digital proof with this equipment:
Epson 4800, "right-out-of-the-box" (!) Epson generic profiles, Epson semi-matte paper and ISOcoated reference profile, test image with Fogra 2.0 strip printed as RGB print from Photoshop through standard drivers (no custom profiles at all) - with deltaE under 3 for primary colors incl. paper, deltaE 2.7 average, deltaE max under 6.
Application is supporting many devices incl. latest from X-Rite (by peoples from Epson), linearization is little bit time consuming; i can not test personally at this time, so i don't know if there are any bugs or disadvantages ... but seems like great tool for everyone!
Best regards to list,
Kamil Tresnak Prague
[Disclaimer: Of course, just to be sure - professional proofing is not only about colors (PostScript compatibility, PDF support, spot color support, job ticket support, etc. etc.) i know all this:):):)]
