I am an instructor at an educational institution. We have purchased
20 Lacie CRT monitors
that students connect to from thier laptops.
I had them calibrate the monitors using an EyeOne. They placed these
profiles in a folder on the server. Each student also placed the
created profile in the ColorSync folders in
there Libraries. Seems to work great so far.
The idea, is that there are also two other classes that use these
monitors.
They are supposed to download the profile off the server for the
station they get assigned and load it into the
proper place on their laptops.
There was some suggestion that the profiles generated are linked to
the video cards on the
laptops and, due to manufactuing differences or different types of
cards won't be accurate from laptop to laptop with the same monitor
profile loaded.
Most of the student use Apple laptops.
Are there flaws with the way I am trying to impliment color
management from laptops docked to CRT's?
Any suggestions as to improvements that can be made.
Thanks
Grant Waddell
