This will be a lower cost and quality alternative as soon as there will be volumes. The technology is just shown as Prototypes for HDTV Television displays now with 50 " on IFA in Berlin

I personally think this will be the commercial breakthrough of high quality displays.

There are a number of interesting technologies on the horizon, of which SED's are definitely one. Interesting times!
