Roger,
Since I didn't want to pay the exorbitant price for upgrading my 'old'
i1Photo to the Beamer mode for profiling projectors, I found I could do it
quite satisfactorily with my i1Display. All you need is a long USB lead. Put
the i1Display a few inches from the screen angled so that it doesn't see its
own shadow, and run iMatch. Seems to work fine. Will be affected to some
extent by the directional reflectance of the screen/wall.

I was surprised to find that the latest generation of Spyder2's can double
as LCD projection system profiler. The EyeOnePro and EyeOneDisplay can
both
be used in ambiant mode to measure the light projected to a projection
screen or a wall by an LCD or DLP projector but the Spyder2 seems to be
the
only one of these devices capable of actually measuring the light being
*reflected* off the wall or projection screen, thereby measuring the color
stimulus that reaches our visual system, taking into consideration the
color
of the wall or projection screen. A far better proposition in terms of
color
management. Anyone tried this already?
