Are you using the ambient attachment to do this? How is the EyeOnePro
calibrated then? I always was under the impression that the
EyeOnePro was
capable of direct contact reflective mode, direct contact emissive
mode,
ambiant mode (spectral irradiance), but that's it. I know there is
also the
EyeOneBeamer which is also able to function in irradiance mode but
without
the ambiant diffuser. But the capability of recording light
reflected off a
surface in non contact mode is novel for me? Under which tool would
this
capability is this found, for the purpose of profiling, to your
knowledge
Robin: is this only in iMatch?
Currently shipping Eye-One Pros can perform reflective and emissive
measurements. The emissive measurements can be performed with or
without the ambient filter. For CRT, LCD and projectors the
measurements are made without the ambient filter. The ambient filter
performs two tasks; it adds a diffuser to the optical path to make
the instrument collect light from a wider angle and the filter also
attenuates the signal, making it possible to use the Eye-One in
bright environments.
i1Match does use the Eye-One for projector profiling. To do so, it
uses the Beamer kit which includes a holder for the Eye-One that can
be placed on a tabletop or a tripod (it has a 1/4-20 mount on the
bottom). Since the Eye-One is used in emissive measurement mode for
projectors, any profiling program could use it for measuring
projectors, they have chosen not to.
For what it is worth, the Spectrolino could also be used for
projectors in a similar manner but no company does this at the moment.
