You could also argue a case for instrumental metamerism, where two different instruments, measuring the same object, produce different results. This is really just a variant of observer metamerism, but I've seen the term used a few times.



That would be a very weak argument. Measuring instruments and digital cameras are different observers and these would all be versions of observer metamerism.
