Hi Marco, Yes as you concluded with Danny Pascale the term is colour
inconstancy, or colour constancy, depending on whether you are
describing
the tendency for the colour to change or not. The metric is the
colour
inconstancy index (CII). Principles of Color Technology explains
a simplified
and more rigorous form of the metric.

Which is completely supported and fully implemented as per the CIE in
BabelColor latest version. I wish that software was in more hands
as that
would clear up the smoke clouding the understanding of metamerism
issue once
and for all. More tools means more potential for understanding and
a more
analytical approach.
SpectraShop also has Metamerism and Color Inconstancy Indices
calculated as described by the CIE. These indices include; CIE MI 1976
(ab), CIE MI 1976(uv), MI 1994, sCII 1994, CII 1976(ab), CII 1976
(uv), CII 1994. SpectraShop has been shipping with this capability
for over a year. Tools are available for understanding this issue.
