I just opened a box to check. You had me worried!
The Ethernet card was there. Don't know why the other source told you no
except it would be a nice additional profit center to be sure. My 4800
Professional Editions certainly have them. The $500 saving I mentioned is
real.

When I helped one of my clients in the purchase of their Epson 4000
Professional Edition, the Ethernet card was *not* included in the package.
They had to buy it as an extra. So, that expense does *not* affect my
price
differential estimate.
True it doesn't have all the features of the full version but at the
price
difference you need to decide will it do the job for you with a very real
savings of over $500?
Yes, $500 starts looking like real savings. But it is inaccurate.
