I cannot find any mention of a 4800 *Professional Edition* on the Epson site
(<http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/WideFormat/pgindex.jsp>). Where do you
see it?

When I helped one of my clients in the purchase of their Epson 4000
Professional Edition, the Ethernet card was *not* included in the package.
They had to buy it as an extra. So, that expense does *not* affect my price
differential estimate.

Yes, $500 starts looking like real savings. But it is inaccurate.
If you look at the B&H site for the 4800 PE
(<http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&Q=&is=REG&O=prod
uctlist&sku=385028>) it specifically says that it is "Network Capable," but
only "with optional 10/100 BaseT Ethernet card." Meaning that the Ethernet
card is an *additional* expense.
One thing perplexes me, though. On the same URL, they write that "this RIP
also supports Professional Color Management Technology, including separate
Input ICC profiles for RGB, CMYK, and Grayscale images. Other features of
this RIP include Ink Limiting Technology with CMYK curve adjustments for
each ink channel, built-in Printer Linearization Technology compatible with
many third-party spectrophotometer devices."
That sounds like the full version. What is the story here?
Best regards.
