A UV filter will improve the usability of your profiles if your expected
viewing environment is low in UV (filtered by glass perhaps ? Some
Fluorescent lighting has low UV too).
If your viewing environment has normal or high levels of UV and you are
dealing with Fluorescent Whitening Agents (which is usually the case), then
filtering out the UV in your instrument is generally a bad move. If you
are expecting to view in daylight or similar, then typical instruments with
'A' type illuminant don't have enough UV !
A mismatch of instrument illuminant UV to viewing environment UV levels
might result in a warm or cool shift, depending on the relative
UV viewing levels and FWA content of the media your source and
destination profiles are created from.
